Capital for Businesses That Build South Africa
Interflex Capital's development finance practice provides working capital to black-owned, women-owned, youth-owned, township-based, and rural businesses across South Africa. We operate as a Retail Financial Intermediary for South Africa's development finance ecosystem, channelling capital to the businesses that need it most, faster and more flexibly than any direct DFI facility can. Apply for Development FinanceWhat This Is?
South Africa’s developmental economy needs capital partners who understand it from the inside. Most alternative lenders serve the growth market. Interflex Capital serves the growth market and the developmental market — because we believe the two are not mutually exclusive.
Our development finance practice provides short-term working capital to micro, small, and medium enterprises that are black-owned, women-owned, youth-led, disability-owned, township-based, or rural businesses that are commercially viable but systematically underserved by conventional capital channels.
We operate as a Retail Financial Intermediary (RFI) for South Africa’s development finance institutions. In this capacity, we channel capital to the businesses and communities that DFIs mandate but cannot always reach directly at the pace, scale, and personal service level that micro and small enterprises require.
Every facility deployed through this practice is directed exclusively at working capital; stock, supplier payments, payroll, contract fulfilment, and operational costs. We do not fund fixed assets or property through this practice. That discipline is intentional. It keeps capital moving in the hands of businesses that need it most.
Our role in the DFI ecosystem
Interflex Capital operates as a Retail Financial Intermediary (RFI), a formally recognised channel through which South Africa’s development finance institutions deploy capital to the micro, small, and medium enterprise market.
RFIs play a specific and essential role in the developmental finance ecosystem. Development finance institutions have broad mandates but cannot always reach individual entrepreneurs at the speed, scale, and personal service level required. Interflex Capital bridges that gap, applying institutional discipline and developmental intent at the ground level, where it matters.
This means that when you apply for a development finance facility through Interflex Capital, your capital is backed by one of the strongest developmental mandates in South Africa, accessed through a practitioner who can move at the pace your business actually requires.

How it works
Three steps. No mystery. We believe in telling you exactly what to expect.
STEP-01
APPLY
Submit your development finance application online. It takes approximately 10 minutes. Select the product that matches your business, Micro, Small, or Medium Enterprise Facility.
Tell us about your business, your working capital need, your developmental profile, and your collateral position (Products 2 and 3). No document uploads required at this stage.
STEP-02
ASSESSMENT
Our development finance team reviews your application within two business days. We assess commercial viability, working capital need, developmental profile, and collateral position.
For Product-1: we confirm insurance eligibility. For Products 2 and 3: we arrange an asset valuation if required. We will tell you honestly whether we can help, and if we cannot, we will point you in the right direction.
STEP-06
FACILITY & DRAWDOWN
If your application is approved, we structure a working capital facility tailored to your specific need and product tier.
For Product-1: your facility is secured by our insurance structure, no physical asset required. For Products 2 and 3: we formalise the asset cession. Funds are deployed directly to your business account. Repayment is structured around your contract or revenue cycle.
What makes this different
We move faster than a DFI.
Development finance institutions are essential, but their processes are designed for due diligence, not speed. As an RFI, we assess applications within two business days and deploy capital in days, not months. Your purchase order does not wait for a committee.
Product-1 requires no physical collateral.
Micro entrepreneurs cannot always produce a vehicle or construction equipment as security. Product-1 is structured specifically for that reality, secured by a DFI-aligned insurance mechanism, not by a physical asset. Your business is the collateral. Your order is the collateral.
We are part of the DFI ecosystem.
Interflex Capital operates as a Retail Financial Intermediary, a formal, recognised channel within South Africa’s development finance ecosystem. Your facility is not just another alternative loan. It is developmental capital, governed by the same mandate that drives the country’s most significant SME development institutions.

This integrated capability, combining direct lending with capital readiness advisory, transaction structuring, and M&A support, gives our clients a single partner from their first funding need through to full-scale growth. We work with businesses that have moved beyond the concept stage. Businesses with contracts, invoices, assets, expansion opportunities, or clear pathways to profitability.
